About this tour

Enjoy a guided bike tour around and into Diamond Head Crater, with optional hike to the top. This tour will take you along the Waikiki waterfront, up past the Diamond Head Lighthouse, around the back of Diamond Head, and through a tunnel into the crater. We’ll visit the Diamond Head visitors center. We can make the optional hike to the top of Diamond Head for 360º views. On our way back we’ll go past Kapiolani Community College, home to a great farmers market on the weekend. We can even made a side trip to Leonard’s for malasadas! Lots of great photo opportunities. Fun for the whole family. Electric-assist bicycles available. Route does have some moderate hills.

What you'll see along the route

Duke’s statue, Honolulu Zoo, Aquarium, Dillingham Fountain, beaches for swimming and snorkeling, Diamond Head Lighthouse, Kuilei Cliffs, Fort Ruger Bike Path, Monserrat and Kapahulu Neighborhoods with cafes and an artsy coffee house.

What to expect

The tour starts at our convenient location on the corner of Kaiulani and Kalakaua. We’ll make sure everyone is on the right sized bicycle and give you a safety introduction. From there we’ll head along the Waikiki waterfront with a stop at several statues and historical places. We’ll continue along the coast and up past the Diamond Head Lighthouse. We’ll ride past the surfers below and around the back of Diamond Head. After climbing up and through a small tunnel, we’ll ride into the crater itself. Taking in the unique view from inside a volcanic crater, we’ll visit the visitors center. You’ll have the option to grab a refreshing drink or local island treat from a vendor within the park. We can even climb up to the top for 360º views of Waikiki, Honolulu, Kahala, and beyond! On the way down we’ll stop at a scenic overlook and make our way around the other side of Diamond Head. We’ll finish with a ride down the Ala Wai and back into Waikiki.

Add On

Optional hike to the rim of the Diamond Head crater.  This is a 760-foot / 228 meter climb, on a mostly-paved path.  There are some steep stairs at the top, but you’ll be rewarded with magnificent panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean!

"Great and efficient staff! I sprained my knee a couple of weeks ago, so I rented the electric assist bike up to the Diamondhead Crater, and it was a beautiful ride. Would recommend highly!"
